Education of Patients before the Orthognatic Surgery

The Bachelor's Thesis deals with the topic of a specific education of the patients before the orthognathic surgery, the surgery's preparation and it's after treatment. The Thesis is divided into two separate parts: The theoretical part and the practical part. Introduction of the theoretical part consists of elementary anatomical data of maxilla and mandible and the classification of the jaw anomalies. Furthermore the diagnosis of the jaw defects and the orthognathic surgery itself is being outlined in the opening of the Thesis, and we also glance here at a history of the orthognathic surgery too. The theoretical part then focuses on 6 stages the patient goes through during the preparation for the orthognathic surgery. The complications that can occur after the surgery are mentioned as well. Following extensive chapter is focused on education; and the term of education is described summarily. In the following subchapters the education in spheres that are important for the patient before the orthognathic surgery is being described. The second practical part of the Thesis is dedicated to the research that is conducted in the area of education before the orthognathic surgery.
